Giving Tuesday
In your capacity, please think of donating to a cause that’s aligned to your value. The world needs more love and support of each other. Many companies match employees’ donation. This is an opportunity to maximize your investment.
I am grateful that people around the world are helping each other.
Thankful

Happiness
We each have a unique “happiness set-point.” Some 50% of our happiness is determined by our genes. Another 40% comes from behavior and choice, the final 10% from environment.
Jonathon Fields
It seems to me very eye-opening how much biology can contribute to our happiness. However, the good news is we can contribute to a large portion of happiness by our choices. For the remaining 10% environmental factor, we still have a choice on how to respond thus may influence how happy we can be. #EnergyLeadership.
Mental Health Stigma
There is still a stigma about mental health even though the younger generations are more open about it. People are afraid that they might be labeled as incompetent. People are normally not shy about taking time off for physical illness, but they still struggle to take time off when a mental break is needed. One good thing out of the pandemic is more and more people are open about their mental health as the number of people struggling with mental health during pandemic has been greatly increased. No one likes the virus, but at least some positive changes arise from the adversity.
Perfectionism
Happy Sunday! I want to share this Ted talk with you. Take a moment to see whether you are a perfectionist yourself, whether you are putting perfectionist criteria to others especially your children if you are a parent. We all need to find our own fine line of perfection and “good enough”.
Social psychologist Thomas Curran explores how the pressure to be perfect -- in our social media feeds, in school, at work -- is driving a rise in mental illness, especially among young people.
Take it
“If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn how to do it later!” Richard Branson
How many time have you said yes to something that you felt you were not capable? Something that you felt you hadn’t checked all the boxes? Something you had not done before? Say YES, then figure it out. I have said YES to many opportunities that I didn’t know how to do but was able to figure out EVERY single time.
Time is limited
“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” ―Steve Jobs
What will you do to start to follow your own heart and live your own life?
Confidence Versus Arrogance
“Confidence is believing you’re good. Arrogance is believing you’re better than anyone else. Leaders need to be confident not arrogance” - Simon Sinek
There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Someone may be taught as a child that they need to be better than other people - their classmates or their coworkers, which could feed into their arrogance.
When they feel they are not better than others, they may feel less confident.
Life isn’t about comparing with others. It is about becoming the best version of ourselves.
Find opportunities
Someone else’s challenge can be your opportunity and vice versa. Elon Musk shared on Twitter that he found it a challenge to use personal money solving global issues. Right away, an entrepreneur called him and discuss a project where he can help influence climate change. That discussion led to a $100MM sponsorship from Elon to the CO2 removal project. This is a win-win situation. Think about how you can solve other people’s challenge? And how to ask for help so that other people may solve your challenge.
